Don Jazzy And Tiwa Savage In DSS Custody over this Alleged Political Utterances

DSS Invites Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage Over Alleged Political Utterances Against President Buhari’s Government

The Department of State Service, DSS, has reportedly invited Nigerian music producer, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy and Tiwatope Savage, also known as Tiwa Savage, for questioning over alleged political comments against President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

Following the increase in rape cases in Nigeria, Tiwa Savage began a movement known as “WeAreTired” in protest of the situation.

According to Our source, the call by Tiwa Savage for the Buhari’s administration to live up to its responsibilities to Nigerians earned the singer an invitation by the DSS.

Together with Don Jazzy, Savage was invited to the DSS office in Lagos two weeks ago during which they were warned to be careful with their posts on the social media.

Shortly after the invitation, the celebrities together with colleagues Yemi Alade and Waje were summoned by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, who while sharing efforts they were making to tackle rape and other problems in the state and country, warned the musicians to steer clear of political comments in order not to incur the wrath of the President Buhari administration.

A member of Tiwa Savage’s management team, who confirmed the development noted that the singer will not stop speaking for Nigerians regardless of any move by governnent.

Apart from the two celebrities, the DSS recently invited a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafia, over his comments on the operations of Boko Haram in the Northern part of Nigeria.

Fuel Price In Nigeria: Buhari Shouldn't Be Blamed

Buhari Not Responsible For Fuel Price

President Muhammadu Buhari is not responsible for the fixing of the pump price of petroleum products in the country.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, made this known while briefing newsmen on the increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.

Reach.ng recalls that the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) had on Wednesday announced a new Ex-depot price of N151.56 for petrol.

Ex-depot price is the price marketers buy products from depot owners.

Speaking to newsmen, Sylva disclosed that the federal government was no longer responsible for fixing prices for petroleum products.

He stated that the government was only focused on protecting the interest of consumers and making sure that marketers are not profiteering.

The former Bayelsa State governor described as unfortunate the blame levelled against the Buhari administration over the fuel increase.

According to the minister, deregulation of the sector was imperative for the economy.

“You all know that that President Muhammadu Buhari aligns with ordinary Nigerians, especially the poor,” he said.

Left for him, he will never allow increase in pump price; for this to happen, it means that it is an inevitable decision.

“COVID-19 took the price of crude oil to zero zone.”

He said that the government cannot fund subsidy, hence would not adopt that as an option, noting that current happenings were for the economic survival of the country.

Sylva said that the government had cut crude production from two million barrels to 1.412 million barrels per day.
